Law and Regulations to Enhance Conservation of Vulnerable Mangrove in Myanmar San Win*1, Sirintornthep Towprayoon1, Amnat Chidthaisong1 *sanwin.fd@gmail.com, sanwin.ecd@gmail.com, san.win@mail.kmutt.ac.th 1Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, 126, PrachaUthit road, Bang Mod, Thungkhru, Bangkok, Thailand 10140 Myanmar is enrich with natural resources including 2400 km long coast facing two oceans, Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea. Mangroves provide its ecosystem services to not only coastal communities but also nation's development and climate change measures. On the other hand mangroves are vulnerable to natural and anthropogenic impacts. Forest department record proved that less deforestation rate of mangrove of 20.11 ha per year in Mainmahla Wildlife and Reserved Forest, under intensive conservation and protection while 7132.7 ha per year in KadonKani Reserved Forest next to the Mainmahla. Existing law and regulations were analysed. Forest law, regulations, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, and National Coastal Resources are major toolsin conserving remaining mangroves in Myanmar. Our study proved that species, Ceriopsdecandra*,Exceocariaagallocha*, Heritieralittoralis**, Avicennia alba*, Bruguieragymnorhiza* growing only in high salinity are likely to be vulnerable to potential lower salinity while Exceocariaagallocha*, Heritierafomes*, Sonneratiaapetala*, Avicennia officinalis*, and Sonneratiacaseolaris* growing in low salinity to potential higher salinity due to climate change impact. No specific law for the mangrove were enacted yet. The top five in high and low salinity area are playing important role in term biodiversity loss, carbon storage, other ecosystem services such as protection from natural disaster and providing community livelihoods in Myanmar coast it the law and regulations are not amended in terms of resilience or adaptive capacity to climate change impacts especially MSLR, Cyclones, and Tsunami. Key words: mangrove, law, regulations, vulnerability,
