together with communities based on priority level. Co-financing was created based on the agreement that the funding needed to support the operational programs were shared by communities, local government, private sectors and universities. Win-win solution means that the output was expected to bring benefit to community, university, local government and the privates involved. The workshops increase community knowledge on the uses of local medicinal plants in maintaining their health. Cultivation of medicinal plants The workshops were conducted by training on identification and determining the types of medicinal plants grown in the local area. This was conducted by dialogue about what and how the communities normally use and do. Next, several plants were introduced and their uses for maintaining human health were explained. The activity was followed by hands on training on herbal medicine preparation methods (Fig.1). In this program the area of Gama Herbal Garden was extended to supply the demand of marketing partner. The local community was trained on cultivation, maintanance and post-harvesting techniques according to WHO guidelines. The cultivar was grown and maintaned using organic fertilizer (Fig.2).
