วารสารอุทยานสิ่งแวดล้อมนานาชาติสิรินธร Journal of the Sirindhorn International Environmental Park 2nd Award: the Brussels Eureka Awards of 2001 The National Research Council of Thailand entered the invention of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej into the 2001 International Inventions Exhibition at the Brussels Eureka Fair in Brussels, Belgium. With his genius and proficiency in invention, for his three innovations, the New Theory, Biodiesel from the Extraction of Palm Oil and the Royal Rain, were granted gold medals, certificates and award cups. All of his works are novel innovations for the development of the nation, which have brought pride to Thai people. His intelligence and genius were evident to the as His Majesty was offered five awards. The ten awards made to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej from the International Inventions Contest undoubtedly affirm his character as an inventor and technologist. On close inspection, all of his works are answers to mundane problems, which we often overlook, such as the development of the Chaipattana water turbine to solve the problem of polluted water resulting from lack of oxygen in the water and the development of biodiesel from the extraction of palm oil to solve the problem of energy crisis and so on. ครั้งที่ 2 กับรางวัลบรัสเซลล์ ยูเรก้า ในปีพุทธศักราช 2544 ส��ำนักงานคณะกรรมการวิจัยแห่งชาติได้จัดส่งผลงานในพระบาทสมเด็จ พระเจ้าอยู่หัว ไปร่วมแสดงในงานนิทรรศการสิ่งประดิษฐ์นานาชาติ ปี 2544 ชื่องาน “บรัสเซลล์ ยูเรก้า” ณ กรุงบรัสเซลล์ ประเทศเบลเยี่ยม ด้วย พระอัจฉริยภาพและพระปรีชาสามารถในการประดิษฐ์คิดค้นของพระองค์ ส่งผลให้การคิดค้น 3 ผลงาน คือ ผลงานเรื่องทฤษฎีใหม่ ผลงานเรื่องน��้ำมัน ไบโอดีเซลสูตรสกัดจากน��้ำมันปาล์ม และผลงานเรื่องฝนหลวง ได้รับเหรียญ ทองประกาศนียบัตรสดุดีเทิดพระเกียรติคุณพร้อมถ้วยรางวัล ผลงานของ พระองค์ล้วนเป็นผลการคิดค้นแนวใหม่ในการพัฒนาประเทศ น��ำมาซึ่งความ ปลาบปลื้มยินดีแก่ประชาชนชาวไทยถ้วนหน้า พระปรีชาสามารถและ พระอัจฉริยภาพในล้นเกล้าฯ ได้เป็นที่ประจักษ์แก่สายตานานาประเทศอีกครั้ง โดยพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวได้รับการทูลเกล้าฯ ถวายรางวัลถึง 5 รางวัล จากการที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ทรงได้รับการทูลเกล้าฯ ถวาย รางวัลทั้ง 10 รางวัล จากเวทีการประกวดสิ่งประดิษฐ์ระดับนานาชาตินี้ จึง การันตีได้ถึงความเป็นนักประดิษฐ์และนักเทคโนโลยีในพระองค์ได้อย่างไม่ต้อง สงสัย โดยหากสังเกตให้ดีแล้วจะพบว่า ผลงานแต่ละชิ้นในพระองค์ล้วนแล้ว แต่เป็นการตอบโจทย์ปัญหาใกล้ตัว ซึ่งเรามักมองข้ามกันทั้งสิ้น เช่น การ พัฒนากังหันน��้ำชัยพัฒนาเพื่อแก้ปัญหาน��้ำเน่าเสีย เนื่องจากการขาดออกซิเจน ในน��้ำ และการพัฒนาไบโอดีเซลสูตรสกัดจากน��้ำมันปาล์ม เพื่อแก้ปัญหาวิกฤต พลังงาน เป็นต้น รางวัล “แนวคิดใหม่ในการพัฒนาประเทศไทย” พร้อมถ้วยรางวัลท��ำด้วยเงิน โดยคณะกรรมการตัดสินได้ลง มติเห็นชอบทูลเกลา้ฯ ถวายรางวัลเทดิพระเกียรตคิุณเป็นกรณพีเิศษ แดผ่ลงานประดษิฐค์ดิคน้ทัง้ 3 ผลงาน คือ ผลงานทฤษฎีใหม่ น��ำมันไบโอดีเซลสูตรสกัดจากปาล์มน��้ำมัน และฝนหลวง The “New Concept for the Development of Thailand” received a silver award cup.
