ในมิติการเรียนรู้ ภายในอุทยานสิ่งแวดล้อมนานาชาติ สิรินธร มีหลักสูตรฝึกอบรมเพื่อความเข้าใจด้านพลังงานและ สิ่งแวดล้อม เน้นการลงมือทดลองและปฏิบัติจริง ทั้งจากนิทรรศการ และแหล่งเรียนรู้ในสถานที่จริง พัฒนาการใช้พลังงานอย่างยั่งยืน นำ งานวิจัยมาพัฒนาเพื่อถ่ายทอดเผยแพร่เป็นข้อมูลผ่านระบบ สื่อสารมวลชนชนิดต่างๆ เช่น แผ่นพับ คู่มือ หนังสือ และเว็บไซต์ เพื่อให้คนได้เข้ามาศึกษาและนำไปใช้อย่างกว้างขวาง ที่สำคัญ ศูนย์การเรียนรู้สากลแห่งนี้ ยังเป็นสถานที่เผยแพร่ ปรัชญาเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงของพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ที่เน้น แนวทางเชิงปฏิบัติแก่ประชาชนในทุกระดับ โดยมีการนำเสนอ นิทรรศการแหล่งเรียนรู้ปรัชญาของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง โดยได้รับ การสนับสนุนจากสำนักงานทรัพย์สินส่วนพระมหากษัตริย์ ซึ่ง สามารถเป็นแบบอย่างในการนำไปต่อยอดปฏิบัติได้อย่างเป็น รูปธรรมในชีวิตประจำวัน และนิทรรศการแหล่งเรียนรู้พลังงานตาม แนวทางเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง ที่นำเสนอเกี่ยวกับอุปกรณ์เทคโนโลยีด้าน พลังงานทดแทนและเทคโนโลยีการอนุรักษ์พลังงาน อีกหนึ่งความน่าสนใจ ได้แก่ การจัดกิจกรรมฝึกอบรม ด้านการอนุรักษ์พลังงาน ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม เปิด พื้นที่การเรียนรู้ด้านพลังงานและการพัฒนาพลังงานทดแทน การเรียนรู้ระบบนิเวศป่าชายเลนและแนวทางการฟื้นฟูป่าชายเลน ตามแนวพระราชดำริสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี และการฟื้นฟูระบบนิเวศป่าบก และป่าชายหาด โดยร่วมกิจกรรม ปลูกป่าในพื้นที่ที่มีสภาพเสื่อมโทรมให้กลับมีสภาพดีดังเดิม มีความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพมากขึ้น รวมทั้งการเรียนรู้เรื่อง นกกับสิ่งแวดล้อม โดยร่วมกิจกรรมดูนก (Bird Watching) ที่มี อาศัยอยู่ในบริเวณนี้หลากหลายชนิด ในมิติทางประวัติศาสตร์ บริเวณอุทยานสิ่งแวดล้อมนานาชาติ สิรินธร เป็นที่ตั้งของพระราชนิเวศน์มฤคทายวัน ในล้นเกล้าฯ รัชกาลที่ 6 ที่ยังคงความสวยงามและเปี่ยมด้วยเสน่ห์ที่น่าค้นหา นอกจากนี้ บริเวณชายฝั่งหน้าพระราชนิเวศน์มฤคทายวัน ยังเป็น แหล่งเรียนรู้การป้องกันการกัดเซาะชายฝั่ง และวางระบบจัดการให้ น้ำทะเลไหลเข้าออกได้ตามปกติ เพื่อความสมดุลของระบบนิเวศ ป่าชายเลน เอื้อประโยชน์ต่อการขยายพันธุ์ตามธรรมชาติของสัตว์น้ำ ตลอดจนเป็นแหล่งหลบคลื่นลมของเรือประมงพื้นบ้าน ทั้งหมดนี้ ล้วนเกิดจากความร่วมมือร่วมใจในการทำงานเพื่อ สนองพระราชดำริ ทางด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม เพื่อให้เป็นเสมือนพิพิธภัณฑ์ที่ มีชีวิต รวมทั้งยังเป็นสถานที่เผยแพร่พระเกียรติคุณและพระปรีชา สามารถในด้านการอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ การพัฒนาระบบ พลังงานทดแทนอันตรงกับหลักปรัชญาเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงที่เน้นให้คน พึ่งพาตนเอง เป็นแหล่งรวมกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ที่หลากหลายอย่างครบ วงจร สร้างนวัตกรรมที่เชื่อมโยงวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีทั้งในและ ต่างประเทศกับระบบภูมิปัญญาในท้องถิ่น เพื่อต่อยอดการพัฒนา อย่างยั่งยืน development, mangrove ecosystem, mangrove rehabilitation based on HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s initatives, as well as terrestrial forest ecosystem and beach forest rehabilitation. These activities are taken along with forest plantation in deteriorated areas to restore the degraded environment and to increase biodiversity. Learning about the birds and the environment is also included by watching several species of birds living in this area. In historical dimension SIEP is home to the Mrigadayavan Palace of King Rama VI, which is still filled with the beauty and charm. In addition, coastal area in front of the Mrigadayavan Palace is a learning place on coastal erosion protection and management, and tidal inflows and outflows management system to keep balance of the mangrove ecosystem and to benefit on naturally propagation of marine fishes, as well as providing sanctuary for coastal fishermen’s boats from strong waves and storms. All of these benefits are brought about by hand-in-hand cooperation in working to serve HM the King in environmental issues to replicate SIEP as a living natural museum. This is also the place to make public known of HM the King’s honor and intelligence in the conservation of natural resources and the development of renewable energy systems in line with sufficiency economy philosophy which encourage people to be self-reliant. SEIP is intended to gather a variety of integrated learning activities and to create innovations linking between science and technology both in Thailand and overseas and local knowledge systems in order not to start from the scratch on sustainable development. Today, SIEP has been functioning as a center for learning activities, knowledge dissemination and up-to international standard training in the areas of the conservation of energy, natural resources and environment. There are a variety of one-stop shop learning activities and creation of innovations linking between science and technology both in Thailand and worldwide and local wisdom for the sustainable development. Youths, school and university students, general public, government officials, private sector personnel, international organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) both domestic and international are expected to visit SIEP. The created activities are to inspire public awareness to understand the values of conservation of energy and environment and to give love to natural resources.
